Importance of 2020 US Census

Message from UAW Region 4 Civil & Human Rights Council on why is it important to respond to the 2020 Census?

The census counts every person living in the United States and five U.S. territories and provide data that will impact communities for the next decade.

The information gathered from the Census affects your community everyday by,

  • Informing hundreds of billions in federal funding every year.
  • Determining congressional representation.
  • Determining support for families in need.
  • Determining funding for school lunches and so much more.

The 2020 Census is open for self-response online at 2020Census.gov, over the phone by calling the number provided in your invitation, and by paper through the mail.
