Lennox Furnace Company was organized in March 1964 by the United Furnace workers. Then in November of 1976, they voted in the UAW and became Unit 11 and were certified on December 7th. First contract was ratified in June 1977.

Lennox furnace production has been through many changes. First there were coal and fuel oil, then gas conversions. Next straight gas furnaces, both natural and L.P. gas. Then the introduction of the G-14 Pulse. We have had solar panels and hot water heaters, and 2nd generation efficiency units. With the consolidations of the Columbus, Ohio plant in 1993, the Marshalltown plant produced top of the line coil blowers, air conditioners, and heat pumps. The bargaining unit at the Marshalltown plant went from 300-400 people in 1976 to its peak in 2004 of approximately twenty months. In April of 2012 members ratified the agreement that is currently in place.

Ryerson Tull Coil Processing (formaly known as Keelor Steel and Aluminum Company) came to Marshalltown in 1987. They specialize in the cutting of flat-rolled steel for use in the fabrication of houshold appliances, automoblles , satelites dishes,etc. Workers became part of UAW local 893 in October 2001.
Employees at Ritchie, Unit 10, have been United Auto Workers since 1976, and Employees owned since 2004. Supplying our own history in the agriculture buisness, making hog and cattle waterers. 2013 started producing horse watering line with Australian horse whisperer, Clint Anderson
Origanlly Cooper Mfg was employee owned and worked hard to keep managment and union employees working together with common goals in mind.

In January 2005, Cooper was bought out by Susquehanna Capital. For the first 2 years they kept all same employee and managment realtions practice in place. Then in 2007 Cooper Mfg became Interface Sealing Solutions.
