CNH Invest in Burlington
Case New Holland (CNH) owes it to the workers who built this company—and the Burlington community that supported it—to invest in the future, not walk away.
Last fall, CNH told UAW Local 807 members that it plans to shut the facility down in 2026. That’s not just the loss of 200+ American jobs—that’s our families, livelihoods, and futures thrown into uncertainty.
We are more than numbers on a spreadsheet. These are the workers who manufacture the equipment that powers America’s farms and infrastructure. They've shown up, worked hard, and made CNH billions in profit. Between 2021 and 2024, CNH has made $8.7 billion, the profit distribution to shareholders was 3.3 billion and the CEO made $109 million. Now, the company’s chasing cheaper costs and bigger profits at our expense.
Here’s the thing: the jobs themselves aren’t going away—they’re being shipped to other CNH plants in the U.S. and Europe. That’s the company’s profit-driven choice. And it’s the wrong one.
A plant closure won’t just hit workers' paychecks — it will shake the foundation of Burlington and the surrounding towns of Southeast Iowa and West Central Illinois. We’re more than workers. We’re taxpayers, parents, neighbors, and volunteers. For decades, we’ve fueled the economies of Burlington, Ft. Madison, Keokuk, Mt. Pleasant, La Harpe, and Monmouth. A plant closure will send shockwaves through the region.
I'm signing on to tell CNH:
- Protect and secure long-term jobs for CNH Burlington workers by keeping their manufacturing plant open
- Negotiate in good faith with workers and our union, UAW Local 807
- Commit to long-term economic growth and job creation in the region
It’s time for CNH to do the right thing. Invest in Burlington. Protect our plant. Protect our community.
