Monday, January 29, 2024Just to let everyone know, it seems the email issue we were having at the Hall has now been resolved. If anyone has emailed me in the last week and a half and didn't receive a response, please resend me your email.PDC WorkA couple of weeks ago, 15 more people were identified for the Naperville PDC plant. We have around 35 people left from the original volunteer list. We haven't heard from the corporation on when those individuals will be contacted. When I get more information, I'll get it out to everyone. Food GiveawayWe are still in need of volunteers for this Saturday February 3rd to help pass out food. We will have enough food to accommodate up to 125 families. If you are interested in volunteering, please show up at the Hall at 8:45am on Saturday. We will start handing out the food at 10am. The food is available to anyone that needs it.Laid off membersA couple of weeks ago, I sent out an email letting everyone know that the company was looking to place us by the end of the 1st quarter (end of March). At this point, the company has backed away from this position due to not having enough work for an additional 800 members at the PDC in the labor market. If something changes, I will let you know. Please do not think that they won't try again somewhere in the future though. Out of Labor Market OpportunitiesWe have had several discussions with corporate and International about there being any opportunity for the members that want to transfer out of labor market. We have been told there will be no opportunities to transfer out of labor market at this time due to the layoffs throughout the corporation. If something changes, I will let you know.
