Ronald D. McInroy

Ron McInroy was re-elected Director of UAW Region 4 in June 2018 at the 37th Constitutional Convention. He was first elected Regional Director in June 2010 at the 35th Constitutional Convention.

McInroy had been the assistant director of the region since his appointment by then-Director Dennis Williams on November 30, 2008.

The region includes the north-central states of Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana.

McInroy joined the UAW in 1979 when he was hired at John Deere & Company in Waterloo, Iowa, as a member of UAW Local 838. He was elected to many positions within the local, including steward in 1981, a position he held until being elected committeeman in 1993.

In 2000 McInroy was elected chairman of the John Deere Sub-Council and has served on many bargaining sessions beginning in 2003.

A tool grinder by trade, McInroy served on the skilled trades, consumer affairs, and recreation committees at Local 838.

In 2005 he was appointed as  a  temporary  organizer  and later  that year was appointed by then-President Ron  Gettelfinger  as  a  servicing  representative in Iowa. His assignment included his home local along with Locals 242, 450, 616, 997, 1024, and one unit out of Local 893.

McInroy served as Vice President on the AFL-CIO, and currently is on the Executive Board of the Chicago Federation of Labor, as well as several labor committee boards in Illinois.

Ron and his wife Amy reside in Gurnee, Illinois and have two children. Daughter, Shannon Schaller and her husband Eric, with their children Kendall and Austin. Son, Craig McInroy and his wife Kelsey, with their children Nola and Quinn. Both families reside in Colorado.
