Delegate Nick Roberts Trying to pull resolution Number 55 to the Resolution Committee

Brother Nick Roberts stood up on mic number 2 and stood his ground on our own resolution we submitted to the resolution committee.

Text: WHEREAS, Remove all of Section 10 lines 25-36

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, No member shall be allowed to hold an elected office for more than 1 local union of the International Union at the same time, except by permission of the International Executive Board.

Sadly this resolution did not pass 31 Delegates voted for this to be pushed out of committee the Convention rules state you need 128 votes to allow the resolution to get to the resolution committee to take a vote and discussion to the floor. All our Local 2250 delegates did vote to push it to committee but it did not reach the threshold. Without Brother Nick being given the opportunity to explain and educate the delegates about the resolution and its purpose sadly the resolution failed.  the reason he could not explain this is because this was an up or down vote to send it to the resolution committee to bring it out. This is due in the rules there is no debate to be allowed.
