Local 2250 Delegates unanimously voted against Strike fund increase and change of benefits

Our Local Delegates stood in unity to stop increases to our strike fund going from 850 Million to 1.3 Billion dollars. This would keep our dues at 2.5 hours until we meet that new threshold. This was the most time consuming resolution vote of the day. There was a lot of discussion between delegates that favored and the delegates that were against this resolution. Another delegate requested information about when they will hit the 850 Million dollar threshold. This is when our local president, Katie Deatherage went to the mic and asked for clarification, that since the $850 million was met, why has nothing been sent out by Secretary Treasurer Margaret Mock reducing the dues to 2 hours. Further discussion happened and another delegate suggested to table this, so they could bring it back to their membership to review and come back 3-6 months later to vote but there was only 171 votes out of the 299 needed to amend the resolution. The final result of this vote was a yes vote. This increases the strike fund to 1.3 Billion and bump up strike pay to 550 dollars. The motion was put in for a roll call vote. Every delegate of local 2250 stood up in solidarity for our local but this vote was also under the threshold and did not pass. More of our local delegates were trying to speak at the mic, including Darin Gilley who submitted a resolution to increase strike pay to $625, he did not have an opportunity to make the case for higher strike pay. A delegate from Region 1D "called the question" which stopped all debate and caused an immediate vote.
Luca asked for Quotes on this Brother Robert Dyche said "We stood in solidarity for our members of 22-50. It's not about personal quests but the Reality for our members we REPRESENT"
Roll Call Vote: Instead of a voice vote or secret ballot, the secretary calls out each member's name, and the member states their vote publicly (e.g., "yes," "no," or "abstain"). This is done on high-stakes issues to ensure full transparency, create an official public record, and keep union leaders accountable to the membership.
