UAW 39th Constitution Convention guest speaker General Secretary of IndustriALL Global Union Atle HØie

Atle HØie the General Secretary from IndustriALL Global Union that is made up of 550 affiliated unions who represent 50 million workers in 130 countries in the mining, energy and manufacturing sectors. They are a force in global solidarity taking up the fight for better working conditions and trade union rights around the world. Spoke about the level of how hard it is to unionize in the United states he said in his speech that the south is the most difficult in the WORLD to unionize. He went on to talk about how Mercedes Benz use all the tricks in the books and how they sent the courts after him to know every thing he has done with the UAW.  He talked about how the German union pulled out of the joint globe affairs with the Mercedes Benz because of how bad they fought with the workers in the USA.  At Volkswagen the first policy is to go to the union first but the USA is the only country that Volkswagen does not run like this.  He ended his speech with one more quote "We need a strong US and a strong UAW" .
